My hair is curly i use gel to get it to curl nice. and when i don’t have it curly i straighten it. which i know kills it but i have tried just letting it curl and not straighten it and everytime i see someone they ask if i got my hair cut which i didnt but it breaks off. . I get that question a lot. i don’t understand everyone in my family hair grows like crazy but mine wont because of the breakage. i love long hair and i want it i hate my hair i just want to shave it off and let it re grow i would even love for my hair to be aleast lower than my sholder i don’t know what to do. please help.

the best solution would be to trim your edges every 6 weeks
my hair use to break off a lot and it use to be thin but ever since i started getting it trimmed its thick and very healthy

use hair mayoinnaise (not the edible kind) every 1-2 weeks when you condition and it will repair your hair, and its good you know straighting kills your hair but try to lay off that or do it once a week

there are poducts that protect your hair from heat, you put them in before you straighten it to reduce the breakage

go get it cut and talk to the stylist, you probably damaged your hair with all the crazy heat of straighteners and what not.

Cut it monthly my hair grew fast and healthy

Stop putting all of that crap in your hair!

Wash it once every 3 or 4 days, no more. And use conditioner each time you wash it.

Don’t curl it, don’t straighten it. That’s what is killing your hair, all the crazy stuff you are putting it through on a daily basis.

Genetically, you may not be able to grow long hair. For certain people their hair will only grow so long, and then stop. I have read about this in hair magazines, so it is affecting other people too. Sorry, but it looks like this is just something you will have to come to terms with.

i know its hard, but you have to stop straightnening/blowdrying it. period. untill it gets healthy again. use a deep conditioner periodically, and get it trimmed 1/4 inch every 4 weeks, and you should be good.

    • Buse V says:

well, i think you should wait and see if it grows longer, and dont use any of the hair products, because it mkes it worse and youll see the difference, and wash you hair with shampoo and conditioner

Omg! same here I have the same problem but I started to straighten less and use Alterna enzymetherapy which works amazingly and also take vitamins for hair growth I believe B12. . not exactly sure but it helps a lot = ]

you would be better off cutting it and letting it grow, cause it is not going to grow this way so why not just do what you know needs to be done in the first place? I struggled with that for 3 years and finally cut it, and now I think had I just done that 3 years ago i would be at the perfect length now, but i waited to long before I cut it. And anyways, you can always get some really pretty fake hair, i have it and i love it. . . I have short hair but also long, all those stars 99% of them have short hair too, but they go out and pay big bucks to put in some nice pretty hair to make it look long while it grows.

You need to use Thermal protector on your hair when you straighten it.

    • Katrina Sucks! says:

If your hair is stuck at one length, it may be because ur not trimming the ends. If u don’t trim the dead or split ends, it will stop the growth of you hair. Make sure ur trimming every six to eight weeks. In between time, use carrot oil. It is especially made for hair breakage. Utimately u must trim ur ends to stimulate growth.

i have long hair, my hair is up to my hips(almost 3 cm to go) i think that you should not try too much on your hair. it is not good for the over all conditioning. you could try anti frizz which hardens your hair and keeps it together but i recommend that you don’t try too much just let it be.
      hope this helped:D

i have natural curly hair. . . funny i use a bunch a products too to keep it somewhat w/nice curls. Anyhow. . . if you want to grow it long. . . theres only one way, you have to stop using that iron! yeah i know but seriously that’s what keeps breaking up ur hair like that. sounds like my hair and when i str8n out my hair i see the pieces i jst broke off all over my floor. right?! well yeah just curl it for a long time then after a few months go back to using the str8ner but only once in a while

first off, stop straightening it and using harsh gels and chemical treatments. once its natural and stuff isnt affecting it, it will grow fast.

second, brush it often, but dont rip your hair out, try using a comb in the shower, and start working from the bottom and work your way up. in addition, if you have your hair in a pony tail, dont just rip out the holder, because that hips out hair with it.

if youre going out in the sun a lot, wear a hat to protect your hair because the sun can easily damage your hair. and if you go swimming a lot, try a swim cap, because the chlorine and pool chemicals could also be affecting it. poor diet can also lead to hair breakage.

i would start off by using a regular shampoo to prevent breakage. wash it often and as you need it. follow up with a conditioner to help stop the breakage.

regular trims can also help to cut off the broken bottoms.

if you need more help, there are many websites, just search on google!

      hope this helped :D

You definitely need to use a really good shampoo and conditioner at all times, not just to experiment. Also, use a really good deep conditioner once a week, or every two weeks. If you want really great hair, it’s not gonna come from $1. 00 products. . .

    • xmizzxtrinax says:

If you dye your hair alot, use a straightner constantly, or keep it in a pony tail, your hair will break off a lot more.

Now let’s say none of these apply to you. There are several things you can do.

      1) Use a shampoo that is good for making your hair stronger. Garnier Fructis, or Biolage. In my case Vive Pro.

      2) Don’t blow dry or straighten your hair for a couple days.

      3) Leave conditioner in your hair for about 5 mins while shower.

      4) To make it grow quicker, take vitamins. Even though Shampoo and Conditioner have vitamins for your hair, this can help your body relay a message to you scalp that nutrients are being delivered.

      5) Give it time. Get your hair trimmed regulary like every 6-8 weeks.

you need a multi vitamin, and u also need to trim your hair at least every 6 weeks. and when u use gel you should get the alcohol free one because the alcohol in it dries out your hair. if i were you i would go ahead and cut a few inches off your hair so i could get a a good head start on heathy hair. trimming your hair keeps it healthy and makes it grow faster. and if i were you instead of using gel i would use a gel that has a conditioner in it. i like my hair straight my hair has a litle wave to it,and i use vo5 straightning and smoothing gel. and i use pantene silkening and the anti frizz stuff. that has a tiny bit of oil in it. i wouldnt use the gel at all if i were you. and use a deep conditioner on your hair often. im sure this will all work for you. u will just have to be patient. but u will see that your hair will grow in almost double the time.

Home Remedy for damaged hair growth care

Mix 1/2 cup honey and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Work a small amount at a time through hair until coated. Cover hair with a shower cap; leave on 30 minutes. Shampoo well and rinse.

1/2 cup of ripe avocado, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/2 banana (I prefer it not to be too ripe), 1 egg yolk. Massage it in to your hair and especially your scalp. Cover it with a shower cap. You can also use a gallon size baggie in a pinch. Wait 45 minutes to an hour then rinse it off thoroughly and shampoo as usual. This beauty recipe is a keeper, I love the way it makes my hair look and feel.

Beat 1 egg white until foamy. Add to 6 tablespoons plain natural yogurt. Apply to hair in small sections at a time. Leave in for 15 minutes. Rinse.

2 cups distilled water, 1/3 cup chopped fresh rosemary leaves – In small saucepan combine ingredients and bring to boil. Continue to boil 5 minutes. Let cool, then pour into spray bottle. Keep refrigerated and mist on hair to add shine, tone scalp, or invigorate skin.

In a blender or food processor, combine 2 1/2 tablespoons dried milk, 1 tablespoon wheat germ oil, and 1 egg. Apply evenly to hair and let set for at least an hour. Shampoo and style as usual.

Mix two whole eggs with four tablespoons of olive oil. Smooth through hair. Wrap head with plastic wrap, and leave in hair for 10 minutes. Rinse well.

Boil 7 heaping tablespoons dried thyme in 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Strain and cool. Pour 1/2 mixture over clean, damp hair. Massage into scalp, do not rinse. Use the rest of the solution another day.

If you swim in a chlorinated pool for exercise on a regular basis, the same damage you’ve noticed happening to your skin and bathing suit, is happening to your hair, as well. Try this treatment at home to keep chlorine damage to a minimum.

      • 1 egg
      • 1 eggshell’s worth of olive oil
      • 1 quarter of a peeled cucumber

Blend the egg, olive oil and peeled cucumber. Spread evenly through your hair, leave on for 10 minutes, then thoroughly rinse. For the best results year-round, continue this treatment monthly
