Can you put a chocolate brown hair dye over a reddy brown and elimate the red?

At the moment my hair is a medium brown which shines red in the light. I want my hair to be deep chocolate brown with NO red. Im going to the hairdresser this week and dont know wether ill need them to strip my hair or wether they can dye straight over the colour with chocolate brown and it wont have any red in it. Thanks

How long do I wait until I wish to re-dye hair with lots of blonde foils?

I got my hair dyed today which was half a head full of blonde foils, and the ends aren’t orange, but aren’t the same shade of blonde as they are near the scalp. How long do I need to wait before I can dye my hair and this time a whole head full of blonde foils? I’d like to ASAP but how long without completely damaging it? Btw I did this at the hairdressers
