• I have a thin waist, but really big, wide hips, which makes me look fat. How can I dress to flatter my shape?

I am also really tall, so the clothes I buy have to be in large sizes, which hang off me and make me look fat. This too is really annoying.

try tieing a sash around your natural waist line.

I totally understand. I have almost a 16 inch difference from my waist and hips. You should try tops and dresses that tie around your waist or have a belt around your waist to show how small it is and wear dark pants with it that don’t stretch. I wish I was tall like you, all you have to do is get your clothes tailored so they fit you.

Wide legged pants or palazzo pants. It creates a straight line from waist to ankle which is automatically slimming. You can also get much more fitted styles this way or even gathered waistlines. Also, consider floorlength skirts, (think Gypsy) these can skim the floor and create a wonderful slimming effect.

Rock your curves. Think BEYONCE. Find styles that flatter your upper half. Bring the eye “up”. Wear plain, darker bottoms, with bright, light and or patterned tops. Buy long layering tops. example: Dark Boot Cut (stretch) Jean . Black extra long tank Medium colored Long sleeve wrap sweater, make sure the tie wraps around natural waist, or just under bust line. Also try Dresses that are low cut necks with empire waist with a flowing skirt.
Try buying tops with some stretch so you can buy your correct size, if they are too short, add your layering tank!
