Does it really hurt?

I know that everybody has different levels of pain that they can or can’t handle BUT can someone describe to me what its REALLY like to get a tattoo?. . . . . . I’ve had 2 babies without any assistance whatsoever so I know what THAT kind of pain is like. . . but I know tattoo pain is different. . . . . any answers will be greatly appreciated from those who have experienced it! My divorce will be final in 2 weeks and I am thinking a tattoo will be some. . . ‘closure’ and ‘new beginning’ for me. . . still can’t decide what I want but am thinking about having it put on lower stomach/hip area. . . . its something I have thought about for a long time. . . . . thanks! No silly answers would be nice. . . . :)

Good idea for a religious/spiritual tattoo line?

I want to get a tattoo on my right side hipbone (like across the hip but right where the bone is) . . . So it would be almost wrapping around my hipbone like when people rest their hands there . . .

I want to put like one line that is meaningful but I can’t think of any good ones. I already have a tattoo of a dove on my left wrist which I love, and I got it for my little cousin who passed away so I would like something that coincides with that maybe, I’m really not sure at this point.

I am writing a guide to body modifications, health issues, general questions, myths and anything else that people could wonder about.
This is part of an ongoing examination for my English Language course i am taking, i have chosen the subject out of personal interest.

However, i feel its important to get input from professionals who for obvious reasons have much more knowledge than me.

So, the point of this question:

-What are the most common asked questions you get from clients?

-Myths that lots of people believe?

- Any information on more extreme mods such as Scarification, Tongue Splitting, especiallywhere/how to get these done in the UK.

- Can surface piercings really heal? I’ve had a pair of hip piercings which lasted 9 months, however depending on where i read about surface piercings either ‘if they are done by a good piercing they will heal’ or ‘none are likely to heal ever’. A truthful answer would to brilliant.

- Would a tattoo/piercing shop be interested in having some sort of information guide like this for customers just coming in to have a look through and take?

Any other things you think customers might want to know about, i know i havent meantioned tattoos much, mostly because they are the thing i have very little knowledge on (mostly due to me being 16 years old and never having had any tattoos).

Any help would be amazing thanks!

Just to clear this up, i don’t mean an encylopedia like BME (which i am using for referance), i mean a small leaflet just covering the most common issues.
Many people who don’t have a huge interest in mods haven’t heard of BME, so just something for people to pick up, flick through and referance back to whenever they want is more what i was going for.

i want to get a tattoo, actually 2 tattoos. but i cant decide which one i want to get first and where exactly i want to get them. i want to get them in places that look feminine and are easy for me to cover them up/hide.

one i want to get is 2 swallows
another is a koi fish.

but i cant decide where to get them. i was thinking the koi fish on my side, but where would i put the swallows? then i was thinking the swallows on one hip, but where would the koi look atheistically pleasing?

please help me! i want to get them done soon cause it was my 18th present and my 18th birthday was 7 months ago! :(

Tell my parents about my tattoo or continue hiding it?

A while ago I got a tattoo on my hip after approaching the subject with my parents and them freaking out and making me sign a contract saying I would never tattoo my body in my entire life. I’m 19 so it was all legal and everything but given that I still live under their roof, I understand I should respect them by abiding by their rules. However, what’s done is done and I impulsively and selfishly permanently inked my body against their wishes and have now proceeded to lie to them about having it. I’m torn because I want to tell them because I don’t want to have to be deceiving, or risk them finding out by themselves by either seeing it or being told by someone else, but I know how angry and upset they will be that I got it in the first place, but also that I gave them my word in writing that I wouldn’t do it and that I have hidden it for about a year. I also want them to know so I can show it off and because I want another one on my foot which I wouldn’t be able to hide. However, then I think that maybe I should just keep it a secret and never tell them, and just wait until I move out to get any more, so I don’t hurt them and they don’t punish me (coz yes even though I am technically an adult, it will not be pleasant). They will also be furious because my tattoo is in another language and they have always thought that is stupid coz it could very easily mean something else entirely. Any suggestions would be helpful coz yeah, I really don’t know what to do at the moment. Thanks.

3rd tattoo, help me out!!?

I already have a branch of flowers on my ribs and a small flower on my right hip. Tattoos are addicting haha I want a 3rd one, but I have a few ideas in mind. Let me know what you guys think! :]

Alright please help. My military ball is next week. I need to find a formal dress, that reaches mid-knee or longer, includes a shrug, and is less than $40. I’m going to try to search good will and salvation army but in case my luck is bad, please tell me if you find a site or page that suits the following description. ps. im not fat. . . . but not small. . . . i’m medium, wide hip build, so please don’t direct me to a site with extra small dresses or any tiny things that are inhuman to fit in XD. thank you sooo much

A logo-less polo for school?

My school makes us wear a uniform, and part of the uniform is a logo-less polo for school. So I tried AEO, and they have wonderful polo’s, but they have logos. And I tried Aeropostale, (it’s my last year there, so I can just get cheap) but the fabric is too clingy and it doesn’t let your skin breathe.
Also, for pants, I don’t like how Aero’s flares so much at the bottom. So any non-flaring pants would be good. Here’s the guidelines:

TOPS:
Solid white or navy blue
Must have collar
No logos

PANTS:
Solid Navy Blue or Khaki
No jeans, capris, cargos, extremely flared legs, sweat pants, rivets, rhinestones, rips, etc.
No hip huggers
Minimal flare or bootcut is allowed (but I like straight)

Tattoo for my sister and myself?

My younger sister and myself are planning on getting inked in Winter this coming year; although we haven’t got much idea what we are doing so I thought i’d ask the experts;

We want to get “I live for those I love” written on us.
She is wanting to get it written underneath her armpit, like 15 centimetres down, so just under and to the side of her breast.
I’m still a bit uncertain of where I want mine. I’m currently thinking on the side of my hip.

Does anyone have any suggestions; plus ideas for the phrase in a different language or written style?
Also i’m a sook for pain; compare a tattoo to a brazilian wax. Ha Ha, I can somewhat tolerate them!

For my birthday i want to get vines, all up my side. starting at my right hip making its way up my right side ribs, then going diagonally up to my left side then going around to the side of my left boob and ending there. Its not gonna be cheap but I want it.

OR~ a vine wrapping itself around my left thumb down my arm?

or any other suggestions for flower or vine tattoos. . .

(Already got frangipan outline on the top of the left bum cheek.
